LEGO Star Wars

Force Friday is upon us, and it's a time to celebrate everything Star Wars. The Star Wars movies are personal favourites of ours, and we cannot wait for their highly-anticipated return. Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is due to be released on 18th December 2015, and will be set 30 years after The Return of The Jedi (1983). It will be produced by Walt Disney Pictures and directed by J.J. Abrams who has also directed Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013). Hopefully this means Star Wars will be in safe hands with Abrams' experience of taking on a massive existing Sci-Fi franchise, and, well, not totally ruining it for everyone. In this new film we will see some new faces, as well as some of the original, beloved Star Wars characters, which is very exciting news!

At The Hut we're celebrating Force Friday by launching a BRAND NEW range of LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens merchandise alongside our other LEGO Star Wars sets. We've selected a few of our favourite Star Wars ships from the films and their companion LEGO Star Wars sets, which are all available on The Hut.

A universal favourite ship from the franchise has got to be Han Solo and Chewbacca's trusty Millennium Falcon. Wait, "you've never heard of the Millennium Falcon? It's the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs!" Can't get much better than that, can you? Find the LEGO set to recreate this classic ship here.

The X-Wing Starfighter is a crucial ship in the Star Wars series because a combination of it, Luke Skywalker, and the force managed to take down the Death Star. We can see a new take on the classic X-Wing Fighter ship with the LEGO Star Wars: Poe's X-Wing Fighter set. Poe Dameron is one of the new characters in the Star Wars Franchise we are yet to meet. Hopefully he and his ship can do as much damage to the Dark Side as the original ship.

The force is strong in our LEGO Star Wars range, but sadly just like in the films the Dark Side has crept in. The LEGO Star Wars: Imperial Star Destroyer set represents the power of the Imperial Military and the Dark Side. It's always fun to play the bad guy, so why not try it out with this iconic set.

The rebels tremor in fear when they see an AT-AT (All Terrain Armoured Transport) coming. When you picture Star Wars surely the image of one of these beasts pops up. Create your own mechanical beast from the Dark Side with the LEGO Star Wars: AT-AT set.

Reminiscing about the classic Star Wars films has really got us looking forward to The Force Awakens. This being said, the film rides on one particular character making an appearance. I think we can safely say that if R2-D2 isn't in it the upcoming film then it will have been a waste of everyone's time. We love you R2.
